Practical Training — Yoga, hydrotherapy, mud therapy, and dietetics form the core of DNYS hands-on learning.

Course Structure (Syllabus)

The DNYS curriculum is spread over 3 years of theory and practicals plus 6 months of internship / house job. Subject names and paper split may vary slightly by institution; below is the standard syllabus followed by many councils.

Paper 2: Human Physiology (bones, muscles, blood, digestive/excretory/respiratory/nervous/circulatory systems, senses, endocrine glands); Human Anatomy (cells, tissues, bones, muscles, joints, digestive/reproductive/respiratory/nervous/sense organs, endocrine system).
2nd Year Paper 1: Philosophy of Nature Cure (principles, Gandhian philosophy, Panchatantra, fasting, diet, exercise, healing crisis, toxins); Science of Facial Expression (foreign matter theory, encumbrances, elimination).
Paper 2: Hydrotherapy (properties of water, physiological effects, techniques — effusions, douches, packs, baths, vapour/steam); Mud Therapy (types, collection, properties, poultice, applications, effects); Chromotherapy (primary/secondary colours, chromo philosophy, use of violet/indigo/blue/green/yellow/orange/red, charging of water/oils/food).
3rd Year (Final) Paper 1: Yoga (definition, types — Raj/Bhakti/Hath/Gyan/Laya/Karma/Tantra, Ashtanga Yoga, effects of asanas on systems, pranayam/mudras/bandhas/kriyas, Surya Namaskar, meditation); Fasting (types, physiological effects, technique, crisis); Nutrition and Dietetics (classification of food, deficiency diseases, acidic/alkaline foods, digestion, balanced diet); Manipulative Treatments (massage theory, physiological effects, manipulations, acupressure points).
Paper 2: Management of Diseases, Clinics and Hospitals; Obstetrics and Gynaecology (anatomy/physiology of genital organs, menstrual disorders, pregnancy, labour, antenatal/postnatal care).
6 Months Internship / Practical Training: Clinical posting, hands-on practice in hydrotherapy, mud therapy, massage, yoga, diet counselling; viva and practical examinations as per institute.

Practical training and viva are conducted as per institute schedule. Total duration is typically 3.5 years (3 years academic + 6 months internship).

Eligibility & Admission Process

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate / Senior Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized board in any stream. Minimum marks required are typically 45%–50% (varies by institution). Minimum age is usually 17 years. Science/Biology stream may be preferred at some institutes.
